The texts on this site are written by Marit Veldkamp, a freelance writer based in Utrecht. She previously covered consumer affairs and spent three years on a series about services that leave little public record behind.
The premise of the site is that paid companionship is talked about a great deal and written down very little, and that what is written down usually comes from parties with an interest in the outcome. This site tries to fill that gap with information that is not selling anything.
Where the figures come from
Amounts on this site come from publicly published rates and conditions of mediation agencies operating in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Where agencies differ, that is stated. Nothing is repeated here that cannot be checked at the source.
The portrait
The portrait is a drawing, as are the portraits on the fourteen profiles. There is no photograph of any existing person anywhere on this site.
Independence
